Swiftli Launch Pad – App launcher for macOS

Swiftli Launch Pad is our own app launcher for macOS. It brings finding and organising applications into an interface with an adjustable grid and appearance. Pahl Digital Art is responsible for the concept, design and development of the Mac product.

Swiftli Launch Pad settings for a macOS app launcher

Starting point: find apps quickly and organise them clearly

A launcher is often opened for only a brief moment. Applications need to be recognisable, findable and easy to place in that moment. The task for Launch Pad was therefore an organised app collection with search and folders, at a density that suits the way someone works.

Our contribution: interaction design and native Mac development

We designed and built the app overview and its settings as a connected product. The overview focuses on applications and folders. Settings give grid size and colour schemes their own visually explained selection areas, making a change understandable before it is chosen.

Implementation: settings that show the result

The original product captures show a search field, named folders and several grid sizes. Settings include a 4 × 4 grid with 16 apps and a 7 × 5 grid with 35 apps per page. Each option previews its arrangement as a small grid; colour schemes also have a visual preview.

  • Search field and folders in the app overview
  • Visual grid selection with the number of apps shown
  • Separate choices for grid size and colour scheme
  • A dedicated native settings interface for macOS

Outcome: a focused tool with original product views

The result is a Mac product in the Swiftli family, with interaction and customisation worked through into its settings. The settings view shown here comes from the actual product. The homepage gallery presents that original view, making the design decisions visible in the developed tool.

This project demonstrates our work on a focused everyday utility, from orientation in the main view to understandable choices in individual settings.
