1. Voraussetzungen und Installation

Swiftli Launchpad benötigt macOS 26 oder neuer auf einem Mac mit Apple Silicon. Intel-Macs werden von dieser Version nicht unterstützt.

Beziehe die App ausschliesslich über einen von Pahl Digital Art veröffentlichten Download oder – nach Verfügbarkeit – den Mac App Store. Beim Direktdownload öffnest du die DMG-Datei und ziehst Swiftli Launchpad auf die Verknüpfung «Programme». Wirf das DMG danach aus und starte die installierte App aus «Programme».

Um die App im Dock zu behalten, öffne ihr Dock-Kontextmenü und wähle «Optionen» → «Im Dock behalten». Verwende künftig dieselbe installierte Kopie.

2. Direktkauf zum ersten Mal aktivieren

Deine Direktlizenz gilt für eine Person auf bis zu zwei Macs. Die gekaufte Version kannst du zeitlich unbefristet nutzen; Updates sind inklusive.

1. Öffne Meine Käufe. Bestätige den Zugang über den E-Mail-Link oder deinen bereits eingerichteten Passkey.
2. Lade das DMG und deine Lizenzdatei für Swiftli Launchpad herunter. Öffne das DMG und ziehe die App auf die Verknüpfung «Programme». Wirf das DMG anschliessend aus.
3. Starte Swiftli Launchpad. Gib im Aktivierungsfenster deinen Lizenzcode ein oder öffne die heruntergeladene Lizenzdatei. Du kannst sie auch in das Aktivierungsfenster ziehen. Das Auswählen der Datei aktiviert noch nichts.
4. Bestätige die Aktivierung bei bestehender Internetverbindung. Der Shop prüft die Lizenz und ordnet diesem Mac einen deiner zwei Geräteplätze zu.
5. Nach erfolgreicher Aktivierung kannst du Launchpad auch ohne Internetverbindung verwenden. Bewahre Lizenzdatei und Kaufbestätigung auf.

Auf deinem zweiten Mac gehst du genauso vor. Wenn beide Plätze belegt sind, öffne «Meine Käufe» und gib einen nicht mehr verwendeten Platz frei, bevor du einen weiteren Mac aktivierst. Beende die Nutzung auf dem freigegebenen Mac. Die App erkennt die Freigabe beim nächsten erfolgreichen automatischen Wochenabgleich und fordert danach eine bewusste neue Aktivierung. Ohne Verbindung bleibt die bisher gültige Aktivierung zeitlich unbegrenzt offline nutzbar; eine sofortige Fernsperre gibt es nicht.

3. Öffnen, suchen und schliessen

• Öffne Launchpad über das Dock, das Menüleistensymbol oder ⌘ + ⇧ + L.
• Klicke ein App-Symbol an, um die App zu starten. Mit dem Suchfeld findest du Apps nach Namen.
• Mit Esc schliesst du einen geöffneten Ordner; ohne geöffneten Ordner schliesst du direkt das Overlay, auch bei einer aktiven Suche. Ein Klick auf eine freie Hintergrundfläche schliesst die passende Ansicht ebenfalls.
• Zum vollständigen Beenden wähle im Menüleistensymbol «Beenden». Das Schliessen des Overlays allein beendet Launchpad nicht.

4. Seiten und Ordner

Wechsle Seiten mit dem Trackpad, dem Mausrad oder den Seitenpunkten beziehungsweise Navigationspfeilen. Ziehe ein App-Symbol an seine neue Position; am seitlichen Rand kannst du beim Ziehen die Seite wechseln.

Für einen gemeinsamen Ordner halte das gezogene Symbol etwa 1,15 Sekunden über einem anderen App-Symbol. Warte auf die sichtbare Ordner-Markierung und lasse dann los. Über das Kontextmenü eines Symbols im Ordner kannst du es aus dem Ordner entfernen. Die App selbst wird dabei nicht deinstalliert.

Launchpad kann Apps automatisch in Kategorien gruppieren. Deine Anordnung wird lokal gespeichert. Das Löschen installierter Apps ist absichtlich nicht Teil des Launchpad-Overlays; verwende dafür die vorgesehenen macOS- oder Herstellerfunktionen.

5. Aussehen und Sprache

Öffne «Launchpad-Einstellungen…» in der Menüleiste oder das Zahnrad im Overlay. Dort kannst du Raster, Icon-Grösse, Farbschema und Sprache wählen. Bei einer Sprachänderung ist ein Neustart der App nötig.

Beim transparenten Farbschema stehen Milchglas und Liquid Glass sowie «Hintergrundstärke» zur Verfügung. Die Materialien wirken unterschiedlich: Liquid Glass ist kein stärkerer Weichzeichner. Wenn macOS «Transparenz reduzieren» verwendet, berücksichtigt Launchpad diese Einstellung.

Die Farbschema-Auswahl lässt sich auch über ihre Pfeiltasten bedienen; eine Magic Mouse ist dafür nicht nötig.

6. Persönliche Apps und Autostart

In der sandboxgeschützten Variante kannst du unter «Persönliche Apps» den Programme-Ordner in deinem Benutzerordner (~/Applications) freiwillig zum Lesen freigeben. Diese Freigabe ist für dort installierte Apps gedacht, nicht für deine Dokumente. Nutzt du den Ordner nicht, wähle «Ich verwende diesen Ordner nicht».

Autostart aktivierst oder deaktivierst du über die Menüleiste. Falls macOS eine zusätzliche Freigabe verlangt, prüfe die Anmeldeobjekte in den Systemeinstellungen.

7. Updates prüfen und installieren

Die Direktversion prüft beim Start automatisch nach mindestens sieben Tagen seit dem letzten automatischen Versuch auf eine neuere passende Version. Ein fehlgeschlagener Versuch zählt ebenfalls. Die erste Prüfung kann schon vor der Lizenzaktivierung stattfinden. Während die App ununterbrochen läuft, gibt es keinen wiederkehrenden Wochentimer.

Im selben automatischen Wochenlauf gleicht die App auch eine vorhandene Aktivierung mit dem Shop ab. Ein fehlgeschlagener Abruf der Versionsinformationen verhindert diesen Statusversuch nicht. Ohne Verbindung, bei Serverfehlern oder bei unklaren Antworten bleibt eine bisher gültige Offline-Nutzung möglich.

Für den Statusabgleich übermittelt die App den Lizenzbeleg, die Aktivierungskennung, den öffentlichen Geräteschlüssel und einen signierten Besitznachweis über HTTPS. Der private Schlüssel, deine App-Liste und deren Anordnung bleiben auf deinem Mac. Weitere Angaben zu Verbindungsdaten und Speicherung findest du im Datenschutz.

Du kannst die Updateprüfung auch selbst aufrufen. Dabei werden nur Updates geprüft, kein Lizenzstatus. Eine manuelle Prüfung verschiebt den Zeitpunkt des nächsten automatischen Versuchs nicht. Während bereits eine Prüfung läuft, wird keine zweite gestartet.

1. Bestätige den Hinweis auf eine neue Version. Dein Standardbrowser öffnet Meine Käufe.
2. Melde dich bei Bedarf per E-Mail-Link oder Passkey an und prüfe die Systemanforderungen der neuen Version.
3. Lade das dort für deinen Kauf bereitgestellte App-Paket herunter.
4. Beende Launchpad, öffne das neue DMG und ziehe die App auf «Programme». Bestätige das Ersetzen der bisherigen App. Wirf das DMG aus und starte die neue Version aus «Programme».

Die App führt keinen automatischen Download oder Austausch durch. Falls eine Prüfung oder ein Download nicht gelingt, kannst du später erneut prüfen oder dich an den Support wenden. Kaufe dafür keine zweite Lizenz. Entferne keine Layoutdateien auf Verdacht und betreibe nicht gleichzeitig Kopien aus Download- und Programme-Ordner. Die App-Store-Version erhält ihre Updates über den App Store.

Wenn du zwischen Direkt- und Store-Version wechseln möchtest, wende dich vorher an uns. Kaufe nicht vorsorglich ein zweites Mal. Bei Fragen helfen Hilfe und Support.

1. Requirements and installation

Swiftli Launchpad requires macOS 26 or later on a Mac with Apple silicon. This version does not support Intel Macs.

Obtain the app only through a download published by Pahl Digital Art or, once available, the Mac App Store. For a direct download, open the DMG file and drag Swiftli Launchpad onto the Applications shortcut. Eject the DMG, then launch the installed app from Applications.

To keep the app in the Dock, open its Dock shortcut menu and select Options → Keep in Dock. Continue using that same installed copy.

2. Activate a direct purchase for the first time

Your direct licence covers one person on up to two Macs. You can use the purchased version indefinitely; updates are included.

1. Open My purchases. Confirm access through your email link or a passkey you have already registered.
2. Download the Swiftli Launchpad DMG and your licence file. Open the DMG and drag the app onto the Applications shortcut. Then eject the DMG.
3. Start Swiftli Launchpad. Enter your licence code in the activation window or open the downloaded licence file. You can also drag it into the activation window. Selecting the file does not activate it automatically.
4. Confirm activation while connected to the internet. The shop checks the licence and assigns one of your two device slots to this Mac.
5. After successful activation, you can also use Launchpad offline. Keep your licence file and purchase confirmation.

Follow the same steps on your second Mac. If both slots are occupied, open “My purchases” and release one you no longer use before activating another Mac. Stop using Launchpad on the released Mac. The app recognises the release at its next successful automatic weekly check and then requires an explicit new activation. Without a connection, an otherwise valid activation remains usable offline without a time limit; there is no immediate remote lock.

3. Open, search and close

• Open Launchpad from the Dock, its menu bar icon or ⌘ + ⇧ + L.
• Click an app icon to launch that app. Use the search field to find apps by name.
• Press Esc to close an open folder. If no folder is open, it closes the overlay directly, including during an active search. Clicking an empty area of the background also closes the relevant view.
• To quit the app completely, select Quit in its menu bar menu. Closing the overlay alone does not quit Launchpad.

4. Pages and folders

Switch pages using the trackpad, mouse wheel, page dots or navigation arrows. Drag an app icon to its new position; holding it at a side edge lets you change pages while dragging.

To group apps in a folder, hold the dragged icon over another app icon for about 1.15 seconds. Wait for the visible folder indicator, then release. An icon's shortcut menu inside a folder lets you remove it from that folder. This does not uninstall the app itself.

Launchpad can group apps into categories automatically. Your arrangement is saved locally. Deleting installed apps is intentionally not part of the Launchpad overlay; use the appropriate macOS or app developer's tools instead.

5. Appearance and language

Open Launchpad Settings… in the menu bar, or use the gear icon in the overlay. There you can choose the grid, icon size, colour scheme and language. Changing the language requires an app restart.

The transparent colour scheme offers frosted glass, Liquid Glass and Background strength. These materials behave differently: Liquid Glass is not a stronger blur filter. Launchpad respects the macOS Reduce Transparency setting.

You can also operate the colour-scheme selection using its arrow buttons; a Magic Mouse is not required.

6. Personal apps and launch at login

In the sandboxed version, Personal Apps lets you optionally grant read access to the Applications folder in your home folder (~/Applications). This permission is for apps installed there, not your documents. If you do not use that folder, choose I do not use this folder.

Enable or disable launch at login through the menu bar. If macOS requests additional permission, check Login Items in System Settings.

7. Check for and install updates

On launch, the direct version automatically checks for a newer compatible version if at least seven days have passed since the last automatic attempt. Failed attempts also count. The first check can happen before licence activation. There is no recurring weekly timer while the app remains open.

The same automatic weekly run also checks an existing activation with the shop. A failed version-information request does not prevent this status attempt. Otherwise valid offline use remains available if there is no connection, a server error or an unclear response.

For the status check, the app sends the licence document, activation identifier, public device key and a signed proof of possession over HTTPS. The private key, app list and layout stay on your Mac. See the privacy information for details about connection data and storage.

You can also check for updates yourself. This checks only for updates, not licence status. A manual check does not move the next automatic attempt. A second check will not start while another is running.

1. Confirm the notice of a new version. Your default browser opens My purchases.
2. Sign in by email link or passkey if needed, and check the new version's system requirements.
3. Download the app package provided for your purchase.
4. Quit Launchpad, open the new DMG and drag the app onto Applications. Confirm replacing the previous app. Eject the DMG and launch the new version from Applications.

The app does not download or replace itself automatically. If a check or download fails, you can try again later or contact support. You do not need to buy a second licence for this. Do not delete layout files as a troubleshooting guess or run copies from Downloads and Applications at the same time. The App Store version receives its updates through the App Store.
